Several years ago the Euless Library Foundation embarked on a journey to combine art with historic stories and events into a unique work of art resulting in FabEuless Memories: The Historic Tile Wall Project. This project was commissioned in conjunction with the Euless Historical Preservation Committee to create a special tile mural of the history of Euless. The Historical Committee found photographs of people and places that highlight Euless from its early days to the present. The wall tiles are individually designed, hand sculpted and painted. Each tile highlights places and events in Euless history, as well as animals and plants indigenous to Euless and North Texas.
This 6’ x 9’ mural composed entirely of ceramic tiles features over 200 hand carved, hand painted tiles that were created by Lisa McNamara. The unique project was completed in 2015. Because each piece is an individual work of art, the process has been time-consuming but very rewarding.
The mural was designed to commemorate places and events on which Euless was built. The tile wall is a permanent reflection on the roots of this wonderful city and its founders. We are so proud to present this project to the citizens of Euless!
The Euless Library Foundation was founded in 1995 as a part of the City’s desire to bring art to the Euless community in an interesting and educational manner.
